Jon wanted me to post this website for you all. It is ran by the artist Tim Barber and has a lot of information. He posts daily about exhibits, artists, etc. There is also a portfolio section of current working artists and a various photographs section. He accepts submissions for the various section and if chosen some of the various collections have been exhibited and printed in book form.

It is a great website to browse because most of the artists are just starting to get recognition. They are young and current.

Photoshop?

I have a question about this project, and partly about the class in general. How much photoshop are we allowed to use? Obviously color correction and cropping and whatnot, but can we go in and add elements?

Richard Learoyd

I really like Richard Learoyd's photography. His process is basically a large camera obscura. He has a sitting room and a development room next to one another with a lens built into the wall. He exposes light sensitive paper to make a one of a kind ilfachrome print. The end result is a large, detailed photograph, usually about 4 to 6 feet. Look him up.

I've been checking out her photography as of lately, and she's got some great editorial shots that i just love and thought I'd share her with all of you.

Kendrik Kerstens

This photographer does a lovely job with portraiture. It is a good reminder to think about your light source (both color temperature and direction) when making photographs.
